Baby Girl CoatsThere are a few things to consider when buying baby girl coats.
The choices these days by being able to shop on the internet for baby girl coats seem almost
unlimited. In fact it can almost be a little overwhelming because there are so many styles, cuts, colors and
fabric to choose from.
The first thing to consider is that they will be growing very fast so you will need to consider the
season in which they will be wearing the coat.
If it is winter than baby winter coats that are extra warm would be ideal. And don’t forget to see if there are
eyes in which you can attach there little gloves so you are not always missing one of them.
If your baby girl
will be wearing a coat in fall or spring something a bit lighter such as a wind breaker or fleece would be
ideal.
Having a hood with any baby girls coat is always a good idea to not only help them stay warmer but
also to keep the wind, rain and snow of her little head. While it may be a nice feature to have draw strings
just keep in mind that most hoods will not have them as this could be a choking hazard.
The other thing to consider is if there are buttons, strings, bows or anything else she might be
able to get into her mouth. The last thing you want is for her to choke on something. While most
manufacturers and designers keep these things in mind it is still a very good idea to be extra aware of these
things before you purchase any baby girl jacket.
The next thing to consider in your purchase of a baby girl coat is the fabric. Fleece is always an
excellent choice as it is warm, wicks moisture and is super safe in the clothes washer and dryer. Wool and
cotton are also great choices. However be very mindful with both as they can stain easily and can shrink when
put into a clothes dryer, especially the wool.
Pay particular attention to any other material as they may not be machine washable. This is
especially true with leather, faux leather. And even though our baby girls are perfect they are still babies
and will get pretty much everything on their new coats. The last thing you want is to take your baby girls
new coat to the dry cleaner every time she wears it.
Finally after your precious little girl coat has been out grown give it a second life by donating it
to “Coats for Kids” or any other non-profit as there are more baby girls with out coats than you would like
to know about.
