Baby Pea CoatYou just gotta love the internet. It has made shopping for a baby pea coat so
easy.
But on the flip side it can also pose a problem as there are just so many coats to choose from. Have
no fear, this simple guide will help you narrow down your search by providing some simple things for you to
consider.
Because babies grow so darn fast, it
would be ideal to buy a little bit larger coat that will last them the entire winter season. Don’t make the mistake
of buying one that fits them baby perfectly right now, you may end up finding that you will need to buy another
baby pea coat for them with in just a month or two.
It would be ideal if the pea coat has eyes or hook on to which you can fasten their little mittens. Just like their
little socks that seem to go missing, it’s almost worse with mittens. And as you know will happen that the mitten
will be missing as the worse possible times. This is why having this little feature is just about an absolute must.
Baby pea coats come with and with out
hoods. I prefer having a hood with any baby coat as it is a good way to keep the elements of wind, rain and snow
off their little head. And having cold winter rain and snow falling on their bald little heads can not feel good.
You just can’t go wrong with one more layer of protection. Make sure the hood does not have a draw string. Most
coats will not have this feature but if you do find with draw strings we would recommend you stay clear as they can
become a choking hazard.
Speaking of choking hazards, most pea coats will come with some sort of buttons. Brass buttons,
plastic buttons and even wood buttons are the norm. Make sure you are buying a quality
jacket. The last thing you want is for your baby to choke on a button they pulled off their coat because of
cheap manufacturing. Most manufacturers and designers are aware of the fact that babies will put anything and
everything they can into their mouths. And as such make sure that the buttons are securely
fastened.
You will have many options for the
fabric of the baby pea coat. Wool, wool mix, cotton fleece and denim are what you will come across. What ever
material you choose to go with make sure you know what the care instructions are. Don’t ever buy a coat that will
need to be dry cleaned. Otherwise you will pretty much guarantee yourself a trip to the drycleaners every time your
baby wears their coat. And as far as wool if you decide to go that route, never ever put it into the dryer. It will
shrink to such a small proportion that it will become a coat for a doll.
Once your baby has outgrown their baby pea coat make sure that you donate it to a charity that will
get it into the hands of a family that desperately need it. There are way to many babies with out things as
simple as a coat than you would care to imagine.
